The new wing, which is completely below ground, includes offices, reading rooms and an auditorium. Although the building itself is underground, the unique design has created an open patio that looks like a city boulevard and includes seating areas and green spaces. The proportions of the courtyard, 110x8 meters, give it the qualities of a crack in the material that reveals the geological history of the place.
In the project we implemented systems of SG 8300 screen walls mounted on a slope between the exposed concrete structures. Using graphic design, we transformed climbing leaves into a graphic configuration printed as white lace on the new facade glass, and serving as a filter between the office occupants and users of the public space.
